Sure, Atlanta’s got the gigantic arenas where one can be mauled by teeny-boppers and strange folk while trying to listen to our fave bands. But these smaller live music venues take the cake for offering up a chance to get closer to the crooner of your choice without being arrested for stalking.

Andrews Upstairs
56 E. Andrews Dr. NW (Places Pl. & Roswell Rd.)
Buckhead 404.467.1600
An intimate setting for your listening pleasure draws local and national musicians, a hip singles scene, and late-night fun.

Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre
3110 Roswell Rd. (Irby Ave. NW & W. Paces Ferry Rd. NW)
Buckhead 404.233.7699
Big names and emerging musicians headline at this acoustically pleasing concert scene. Word to the wise: Wear flats since you’ll be standing at an angle all night.

Eddie’s Attic
515-B N. McDonough St. (@ Trinity Pl.)
Decatur 404.377.4976
Eddie’s introduces up-and-coming artists and has served as the launching pad for musicians such as Indigo Girls, Sugarland, and John Mayer.

Tabernacle

Downtown 404.659.9022
All who come for a concert here sing the praises of the fabulous acoustics of this former downtown Baptist church.

The Loft
1374 W Peachtree St. (@ 17th St.)
Midtown 404.885.1365
This trendy music venue is just one year old, but it already attracts new-on-the-scene international stars, such as Lily Allen.
