HRC and Atlanta Pride Celebrate National Coming Out Day at Spelman College

If you’re gay, lesbian, queer, bisexual, questioning, transgender, curious or allied, you likely know that this coming weekend is Atlanta Pride, previously in June, but hey, we now have better weather. Beyond that, however, is National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11, which you might not know about. The idea behind it came about with celebrating people having the courage to simply be themselves and not hide in the proverbial closet. It might seem simple if you’re straight, but if you’re not, you know it’s a big move.

And it deserves its own day, as well as a celebration. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Atlanta Pride are joining forces to throw down at Spelman College in honor of the special day on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
