The very un-circus-like and über-poised and successful Jeffrey Fashion Cares, which for 17 years has been collecting insane amounts of money (more than $9 million) for AIDS and breast cancer research, is a luxe charitable fashion show that everybody who’s anybody is at.
The Aug. 30 event is understandably pricey—tickets and patron packages run from $1,500 to $25,000. So let’s get real, not everybody is going to make it to the main show.
However, this year’s circus-themed after party has been made available to the public, and this shindig only costs a fraction of that. Plus, you’ll still be helping charity. My wife and I are honored to be on the party’s host committee. The post-show bash will immediately follow Jeffrey Fashion Cares and will be held at Opera in Midtown beginning at 9 p.m.
The imaginative fun includes an interpretive twist on a circus, late night festivities include a special DJ appearance by Fred Schneider of the B-52s, DJ Vicki Powell, performances by gloATL dancers, aerialists, fire dancers, signature cocktails, desserts, and circus-theme snacks and party favors. Chaired by philanthropist Cathy Smith, founder of Dixie Dog Wear, post-show partygoers will also get to mix and mingle with popular female impersonators and Atlanta personalities Bubba D. Licious and Nicole Paige Brooks. Tickets are $150 and available for purchase at www.jeffreyfashioncares.com/atlanta.
Proceeds from the official after-party will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and Atlanta AIDS Fund.
Tickets and patron packages are still available for the 18th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares, which kicks off at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 30 on the 33rd floor of 12th & Midtown, a new high-rise located at Peachtree and 12th Street.
