You’ve likely already experienced Dialog in the Dark, which made quite an impact when it opened at Atlantic Station’s Premier Exhibition Center in 2008. Not only has it provided jobs for the visually impaired, but it’s also been a really amazing experience for Atlantans.
Guests of Dialog in the Dark encounter a world completely unknown to someone with the gift and ability to see. The exhibition has been built to transport people to a place where seeing is not an option. With canes in hand, visitors are lead by blind or visually impaired tour guides through environments where all other senses are heightened.
Adding to this popular and special experience is Dining in the Dark, which kicks off Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Premier Exhibition Center at Atlantic Station. Guests of Dining in the Dark will have the opportunity to enjoy a four-course meal crafted by one of city’s finest chefs. Diners will eat in total darkness and be served by blind or visually-impaired guides who will act as your servers for the evening.Dining in the Dark allows 16 people to attend at a time and will be running once a month through June 2011.
Some of Atlanta’s top chefs participating include Jason Hill of Wisteria, Travis Collum of Kozmo and Carvel Grant Gould of Canoe, to name a few. Visit www.dialogtickets.com for the full event lineup and to purchase tickets.
