While some of Atlanta’s restaurateurs are famous for just that (such as Bob Amick), others were celebrities before entering the wine-and-dine industry. If your desire is to be able to say, “Last night Diddy’s kitchen was smokin’,” scope out these celeb-owned hotspots. You never know who you might bump into.
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother, Janice, manages his white-hot joint meld of Southern and Caribbean tastes where celeb producers, musicians, athletes, and other noteworthy moguls dine.
Gladys Knight and Ron Winan’s Chicken & Waffles
A soulful delight for the palate, this duo dishes up some mighty flavorful fare complete with sweet potato cheesecake, sweet tea, and plenty of chicken and waffles.
Along with a few friends, Watershed’s Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls) owns the delicious dining destination where old-fashioned Southern meals are prepared like your mama did it and presented like Martha (Stewart) oversaw it.
Emeril Lagasse, the famous-chef-turned-entrepreneur, holds his own in Atlanta with Creole-style cooking blended with sophisticated highlights.
A hit in Los Angeles is about to take Atlanta by storm this fall with this Italian eatery known for its attraction of celebs, paparazzi, and the see-and-be-seen bar stars. The collective swath of celeb investors, otherwise known as the Dolce Group, includes Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, Danny Masterson, Laura Prepon, Chris Masterson, Jamie Kennedy, and of course Mike “Boogie” Malin.
The Dolce Group (see above) is also bringing its Asian spectacle to Hotlanta later this fall. The trendy crowd-drawing infusion of sushi, sexy, and scores of sake will be directly across from Dolce Enoteca E Ristorante. The décor is slated to reveal a futuristic nightclub set in Tokyo, circa 2040.
